How do I read the Venice bus route map?
You look for the starting point and the desired destination and check on the map to see which line is visible at each station. These are also color-coded, so it is relatively easy to find any necessary transfer points.
How do I get from Punta Sabbioni to Venice?
Lines 14 and 15 stop at the Punta Sabbioni stop. Line 14 takes a “detour” via the Lido di Venezia, while line 15 goes directly to Venice. Both routes are very beautiful. In Venice, the ideal stop to get off is San Marco – S. Zaccaria. That way you are in the center, then pass the Bridge of Sighs and are already at St. Mark’s Square.
How do I get from Treporti to Venice?
A less crowded vaporetto station in Cavallino is Treporti. From there, line 12 and line 13 go to Venice. However, these do not go to St. Mark’s Square, but to the Fondamente Nove station. However, if you want to go to Murano or Burano, these lines are a good choice. They also stop in Murano, Burano, Torcello and San Erasmo on the way to Venice.
How do I get to the Lido di Venezia?
There are many different lines to get to the Lido di Venezia. The car ferry no. 17, line 14, line 1, line 10, lines 5.1 and 5.2 and line 6 all stop at the Lido. Of course, it all depends on where you are coming from. The stop is on the “city side”, so to get to the beach at the Lido you have to walk a short distance or take the bus.
How do I get from the train station to St. Mark’s Square?
The historic center of Venice is not very big and in principle this route can be easily covered on foot. However, since this is probably not the only route you will take during a stay in Venice, the various lines in Venice are a good option. The station in Venice is called Ferrovia. From there, line 1 is the quickest way to get to St. Mark’s Square.
It is important which pier you choose. These are labelled A, B, C and D (there are currently no departures from E). This shows the direction in which the chosen line travels. The 1 goes both towards Piazzale Roma and towards St. Mark’s Square. For the shortest journey from Venice train station to St. Mark’s Square, choose pier B and board line 1. The journey goes through the Grand Canal, under the Rialto Bridge and you land directly at St. Mark’s Square. It is a special experience to travel on the busy Grand Canal.
How do I get to Murano?
From Cavallino, it is best to take line 12 via the Treporti station or the Punta Sabbioni station. This goes via Burano and Torcello directly to Murano.
From Venice, you can get to Murano via the Fondamente Nove station with line 12 or 13. From Piazzale Roma or the Santa Lucia train station, take line 3 in the direction of Murano.
Where can I buy the ticket for Venice?
We recommend buying your ticket for Venice online in advance. You save yourself the hassle of queuing at the ticket booth and can get started straight away. We recommend choosing the 24-hour ticket for a day trip. That way you are not tied to a specific time and can use almost any of the lines in Venice. The only exceptions are the Alilaguna lines and the People Mover from Tronchetto to Piazzale Roma. If you plan on visiting Venice for several days, you can of course also choose the multi-day ticket.
