Venice without public transportation is unthinkable. The inhabitants of Venice rely on it and use it frequently, but it is also a welcome change for tourists in particular to take a trip around the lagoon city of Venice on a vaporetto after a long day. This way you can pass most of the sights, cross the Rialto Bridge or visit the islands of Murano, Burano, Torcello and many more.
